Preston's a Party Animal

In October of last year we attended Marsha and Jacob's wedding (Phillip's cousin). Like her sister Monica just a few months prior her church ceremony in Arlington was followed up by a rockin' reception at her father's house. (I hope to have photos of Monica's June wedding posted soon as well. I'm working my way back through the photos.)

As you'll see from the following photos Preston was all about the dance floor. His dance partner was the lovely Ava Grace (a cousin).

The cake. The bride had a sunflower theme.

Look at those moves!

Dancing With The Stars here we come!

Or mabe not. Ha ha.

They certainly had everyone's attention.

This was some kind of line dance that the wedding party was doing. It was so cute to see the little ones jump right in there and dance along.

I love how I caught Ava Grace in the air.

Time to take a break for cake.

Oh dear, now he's dancing with the wedding party.

Taking a break with daddy.

Heavenly Words

This is the conversation that took place at bedtime tonight:

Preston: I want Jesus to come out of my heart.

Me: No, you want Jesus to stay in your heart, that is how he talks to us.

Preston: But I can't hear him.

Me: If you be real still and quiet you will hear him.

Preston: I tried that before, I didn't hear him.

Me: Maybe you weren't quiet enough?

Preston: I was quiet and I didn't hear him. I want him to talk to me.

Me: Well you just have to listen really hard. He'll talk to you. Now let's go to bed.

Preston: Ok, I'll try it right now. [He now lays really still and doesn't say a word for like 3 seconds] See?! I don't hear him!

Me: Hmmm.

Preston: I want to ask him a question. I'll do it right now. [Lowering his head and talking to his heart] Jesus I want you to talk to me. [Pause] He's not talking!

Me: He'll talk to you don't worry. If you are still and quiet enough Jesus will talk to you. Sometimes you have to wait for Jesus, he doesn't always answer right away. Sometimes you just have to give it more time. Time to get under the covers now.

Preston: Ok, I'll try again. [Lays still and quiet for 5 seconds] I heard him!!

Me: Really? You did? What did he say?

Preston: He said, I love you.

A Portrait of Friends

Recently, I was honored when two of my closest friends endulged me and let me photograph their little ones. We set up our photoshoot last fall and we had such a good time. We had originally wanted to shoot at the church down the street with the really cool door that I used for Preston's photoshoot. Unfortunately that very morning of the photoshoot I drove by the church and they were in the process of replacing that door with something completely different. I was so disappointed. I loved that door! Fortunately my friend Micki suggested the Catholic church in town. It doesn't have a really cool weathered door, but it has a lot of photo oppotunities.

It was so much fun playing professional photographer for the day. These girls are all just beautiful. I hope that they let me do it again soon. Now that I'm not 8 months pregnant I'll be able to get around a little easier.

I only have a few of Preston as I was trying to focus on the other little ones. But here are a couple. He was much more happy playing in the leaves than getting his photo taken anyway.

This is Kylie and Maya. Maya wasn't into having her picture taken that day but we got a couple of good shots. This first one is my all time favorite of the whole shoot.

This is my friend Melissa and her family. Her girls Dakota and Cadence are just precious and so photogenic.
